For many years, massage was believed to be unsafe for individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Today, that understanding has changed. Since 2008, oncology massage has grown into a recognized specialty and is now embraced as a supportive, complementary therapy alongside conventional medical care.

Specially trained oncology massage therapists work with care, intention, and deep respect for the body—adapting each session to meet you exactly where you are. This gentle form of massage is now offered in hospitals, hospices, oncology clinics, wellness centers, and spas around the world to help ease treatment-related side effects, reduce stress, and support overall comfort and quality of life.

At Love & Esthetics, we are honored to partner with the nonprofit Beautifying Oncology Services to provide complimentary and low-cost oncology massage to those currently undergoing cancer treatment or within their first two years of remission. Your first massage is always complimentary, allowing you to experience the benefits in a safe, nurturing space—without financial worry.

If massage becomes a part of your ongoing care, we offer a sliding-scale rate of $25–$75, because we believe healing touch should be accessible to everyone. Our intention is to offer a quiet place to rest, be supported, and feel cared for—just as you are.

Oncology Massage FAQs
Is oncology massage safe?
Yes. Oncology massage is specifically designed for individuals undergoing cancer treatment or in recovery. Our therapists are specially trained to adapt techniques, pressure, positioning, and timing based on your diagnosis, treatments, and how you’re feeling that day. Every session is approached with care, caution, and respect for your body.
Do I need approval from my doctor?
Every cancer journey is unique. To best support your safety and comfort, we do require a doctors note before your first session. This allows us to provide care that’s thoughtfully aligned with your treatment and overall well-being.
What does an oncology massage feel like?
Oncology massage is typically gentle, slow, and deeply nurturing. The goal is comfort—not deep tissue work. Many clients describe it as calming, grounding, and restorative, offering a sense of ease during a challenging time.
Can massage help with side effects of treatment?
While massage is not a cure, many people find it helpful in easing common side effects such as fatigue, anxiety, nausea, pain, neuropathy, and difficulty sleeping. Most importantly, it can offer a moment of peace and relief, supporting emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
What if I don’t feel well on the day of my appointment?
That’s completely okay. Sessions are always customized to how you’re feeling in the moment. We can shorten the session, adjust positioning, or focus on areas that feel most supportive that day. Your comfort always comes first.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit begins with a thoughtful intake and conversation so we can understand your medical history, current treatments, and any concerns you may have. You are always in control—communication is encouraged throughout the session, and nothing is done without your consent.
How much does oncology massage cost?
Your first oncology massage at Love & Esthetics is always complimentary. If you choose to continue, we offer a sliding-scale rate of $25–$75, made possible through our partnership with Beautifying Oncology Services. Our goal is to make healing touch accessible to everyone.
Who is eligible for oncology massage services?
Our oncology massage services are available to individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or within the first two years of remission.
